Child Support

Child support is generally decided based upon application of the statutory New Mexico Child Support Guidelines. These guidelines take into account the parents’ relative gross incomes, relative time sharing with the children and the number of children.  In rare instances, deviations from the statutory amount can occur.

Health insurance, uninsured medical expenses, private school tuition, summer camp fees, music lessons, organized sports fees, child care costs and special needs such as tutoring or therapy are additional considerations in determining child support.
