Virginia R. Dugan is a shareholder with Atkinson & Kelsey, P.A., practicing exclusively in divorce and family law.  Ms. Dugan graduated from State University of New York at New Paltz with a B.A. cum laude in 1968, from the University of New Mexico with an M.A. in 1971, an Ed. D. in 1992 and a J.D. in 1995. She was admitted to the State Bar and the United States District Court in 1995. Ms. Dugan is also admitted to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a recognized Specialist in Family Law and is a frequent speaker and writer on family law matters. At the state level, she served as President of the State Bar of New Mexico (2006). She is active in the ABA Family Law Section. Currently, she serves as Parliamentarian for the Family Law Section Council; previously, she was Chair of the Marital Property Committee and of the Scope and Correlation Committee and a member of the CLE Committee.

She is rated preeminent “A” by Martindale Hubbell, has been recognized as a Southwest SuperLawyer for the past 12 years, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, has been included in Best Lawyers in America since 2007, and is a recognized Family Law Specialist. She was selected as Best of the Bar by Business Weekly in 2011 and was selected as a 2013 Woman of Influence for NM Business Weekly.
