As an educator and an educational consultant, Patrick McDaniel has had numerous publications and won national recognition for educational research from the American Educational Research Association. He served on national committees to address school dropout issues, including the Ford Foundation and the Council of Great City Schools committees. He served as the National President for the National Association for Year-Round Education, and won an award from the Albuquerque Human Rights Council for his work as a consultant on educational equity.
