Virginia R. Dugan is a shareholder with the Albuquerque firm of Atkinson & Kelsey, P.A., practicing exclusively in divorce and family law.  Ms. Dugan graduated from State University of New York at New Paltz with a B.A. cum laude in 1968, from the University of New Mexico with an M.A. in 1971, an Ed. D. in 1992 and a J.D. in 1995. She was admitted to the State Bar and the United States District Court in 1995. Ms. Dugan is also admitted to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a recognized Specialist in Family Law and is a frequent speaker and writer on family law matters. At the state level, she served as President of the State Bar of New Mexico (2006); she continues to serve as Vice-Chair of the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Committee.  She is active in the ABA Family Law Section.  Currently, she serves as a member of the Family Law Section Council; previously, she was Chair of the Marital Property Committee and of the Scope and Correlation Committee and a member of the CLE Committee.

She is rated preeminent "A" by Martindale Hubbell, has been and continues to be a Southwest SuperLawyer, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, is included in Best Lawyers in America, and is a recognized Family Law Specialist. She was selected as Best of the Bar by Business Weekly in 2011 and was selected as a 2013 Woman of Influence for NM Business Weekly.
